James R. Mobbs, Sr.
COOLVILLE--James R. Mobbs, Sr., 80,of Coolville, OH passed away Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017 at his home with his family.
He was born Oct. 12, 1937 in Everett, WA, son of the late Daniel V. and Nola Halley Mobbs. James was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served as a medic and paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne. He was a long haul truck driver for Hennis and Borg Warner for over 25 years. He retired after five years as a Mac Tool Distributer. He enjoyed trips out west, fishing and building model airplanes. James was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and his memory will be treasured in the hearts of his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Maxine Byrd Mobbs; two sons, Jim Jr. (Fiona) Mobbs and De V. (Stephanie) Mobbs; two daughters, Lisa (Howard) Simpson and Mindy (David) Luna; four sisters, Dorene (Ed) Beck, Rose Acton, Betty Finder and Nadine (Kelley) McCreery; twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Frances Mobbs; grandmother, Ellice Halley; two brothers, Tom Mobbs and Jerry Mobbs and a granddaughter, Lindsey DeAnn Mobbs.
Funeral services will be held at 1 P.M., Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017 at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home in Coolville, OH with Pastor David Nutt officiating. Burial will follow in the Torch Cemetery where Military services will be conducted.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home Saturday from 11 A.M. until time of service.
