James "Jim" Neal Wright, 80, of Alfred, Ohio, passed away on February 3, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 15, 1937 in Reedy, West Virginia to the late Carl and Wilma (Richards) Wright. He attended Hockingport Elementary School and graduated from Coolville High School in 1956. He then served in the United States Air Force from October 1956 to 1960, three years of which were served in Germany. He was an avid baseball fan and played on several local teams for 25 years. He began working for the formerly known GSI in Gallipolis, Ohio in 1964 and retired in 1991. He also attended Fellowship Chapel Church in Little Hocking, Ohio.
He was survived by his wife of 44 years, Sandra (Swartz) Wright of Alfred, a daughter, Mandee Scyoc (Tom) of Reedsville, and a son, Josh Wright of Alfred, as well as a close residing cousin, Bernita Stout. He also leaves behind three grandchildren, Christopher (Amanda) Scyoc of Little Hocking, Cortney (Don) Anderson of Circleville, and Cayla Scyoc of Circleville, one great grandchild, Gabriel Scyoc, in-laws Janice and Dale Kuhn of Little Hocking, and Terry and Nancy Swartz of Alfred. Additionally, he leaves behind several nieces, nephews, friends, and a special childhood friend, Alfred Chuttes of Hockingport, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his mother in law and father in law Millard and Juanita Swartz.
A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
