STEWART—James Allen Howell, 77, of Stewart, OH, passed away Friday, Jan 28, 2023, at his residence.
He was born May 26, 1945, in Frost, OH, son of the late Samuel and Helen Kinney Howell. James was a member of the Rome Township Fire Dept., where he was a past Chief, and retired from the City of Athens.
He is survived by his wife, Sonja Featherstone Howell; son, Jeffrey and Julie Howell; brother, David and Sandy Howell; 4 grandchildren, Selene, Seth, T.J. and Erica; 6 great-grandchildren; stepdaughter, Melissa and Dale Lesperance; 2 step-grandchildren, Amanda and Travis and 5 step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jane.
Funeral services will be held at 5:30 P.M., Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2023, at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home in Coolville, OH, with Pastor Thomas Romine officiating. Burial will be in the Stewart Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home Monday, from 6-8 P.M.
