COOLVILLE—James Hamilton Allen, 70, of Coolville, OH, passed away Monday, Jan. 1, 2024, at his residence.
He was born May 7, 1953, in Parkersburg, WV, son of the late Otis Wade and Mary Lois Dixon Allen. Jim was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran, Charter Member Fire Chief of Carthage Fire Department, Fire Chief of Carthage Fire Department with 5 years of service, member of the Coolville Fire Department with 30 years of service and where he served as a former Fire Chief. He was also a retired Frontline Medic, former EMT for SOEMS and longtime employee of Federal Hocking School District.
Jim is survived by a son, Jameson and Patty Allen; 2 daughters, Jessica Allen and Leah Allen; grandchildren, Dominique (Steven), Cynthia, Kiley, Jakob and Dutton; mother of his children, Debbie Tanthorey Allen; and 2 brothers, Steve Allen and Ed Allen.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 2 P.M., Saturday, Jan 13, 2024, at the Coolville United Methodist Church with Charlie McKenzie officiating.
The family will be accepting family and friends at the church from noon until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Carthage Township Fire Department, 26460 Bean Cemetery Road, Guysville, OH 45735.
