Ivan Creeger
Ivan Creeger, 81, of Coolville, OH passed away Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014 at Arcadia Nursing Center, Coolville, OH.
He was born May 27, 1933 in Tontogany, OH son of the late Delphin and Nellie Burgoon Creeger. Ivan was a 1951 graduate and an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict serving from 1953 to 1955. He retired from G.E. Plastics with 32 years of service and was the Mayor of Coolville for 4 years. He was also a member of the Coolville United Methodist Church and the Coolville Vol. Fire Dept. for many years.
He is survived by 2 daughters, Melody and Scott Varney, Melissa and Tom Meeley; a son, Tim Creeger; 9 grandchildren, Alan, Justin, Samantha, Elizabeth, Chad, Stacy, Kristy, Brad and Darin; several great-grandchildren; a brother, Dennis and Sue Creeger and a sister-in-law, Jane.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Rheta Cody Creeger; and a daughter, LaMarsha Payne.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 30, 2014 at the Coolville Cemetery with Pastor Katherine Riley officiating. Military services will be conducted by the Athens VFW, Albany VFW and Athens American Legion Post 21.
There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Coolville United Methodist Church.
