Herman S. Schul
GUYSVILLE—Herman S. Schul, 73, of Guysville, OH, passed away Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018 at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, OH, after a farming accident. He was surrounded by all his family.
He was born Jan. 1, 1945 in Leon, WV, son of the late Roy O. and Noma L. Anderson Schul. Herman was a 1962 graduate of Carthage-Troy High School and a member of the Faith Bible Church on Varner Road. He enjoyed gospel music, which included being a member of the Gospel Strings bluegrass group and traveled the area playing guitar with various jam session groups. He enjoyed farming, hunting, working with his hands, tinkering with engines and was a decorative blacksmith. He retired from DuPont, where he was an electrician, welder and mechanic.
Herman is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nancy Zumbach Schul ; two daughters, Tracie Francis (Walt Lewis) and Kimberly (Harry) Sickler; one son, Matthew Schul; two brothers, Herbert (Donna) Schul and Jerry (Carol) Schul; ten grandchildren: Joseph (Rachel), Donovan, Nicole, Nathan, Leah, Jacob, Brandy, Samuel, Caroline, Lily; five great-grandchildren, Riley, Ben, Carson, Max and Zoey.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua David Colyer.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M., Monday, Dec.10, 2018 at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home in Coolville, OH, with Pastor Calvin Jarvis officiating. Burial will follow in the Coolville Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sunday, from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M.
