Hazel "Louise" Blake
Hazel "Louise" Blake, 95, of Belpre, OH passed away Monday, June 19, 2017 at Arcadia Nursing Center in Coolville, OH.
She was born April 21, 1922 in Normantown, WV daughter of the late Jasper Newton and Lula Marks Gregory. Hazel was their 7th daughter and their 13th child. She had a wonderful laugh and a smile for everyone. She loved crocheting, reading, playing cards and dominos before Alzheimer's took it away.
She is survived by a son, Alvin L. and Rosalie Blake of Little Hocking; a daughter, Lula Mae and Tom Vensel of Little Hocking; 5 grandchildren, Diana, Stephen and Jennifer Blake and Brenda and Jeffrey Vensel; 5 great-grandchildren, Tyler, Megan, Jonathan, Zachery and Christopher; 2 great-great-grandchildren, Kylie and Bently.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Alvin R. "Jiggs" Blake; an infant daughter; a granddaughter; 7 sisters and 7 brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M., Friday, June 23, 2017 at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home in Coolville with Pastor Rick Bourne officiating. Burial will follow in the Eden Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 5-7 P.M. at the funeral home.
