Gregory “Duke” Alan Snyder

Gregory Alan Snyder “Duke” passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Sunday September 1, 2019. Duke, 62, was born in Parkersburg, WV on September 27, 1956. He graduated from Warren High School in 1975. He loved drag racing, Mopar muscle cars and was an avid fan of the West Virginia Mountaineers.

Duke retired from CSX Transportation after 42 years of service. He also served in the Army Reserves for a short period of time.

His parents, Raymond Snyder and Doris Eileen (Quick) Snyder preceded him in death along with Rylee Grace his honorary grand-daughter.

Duke is survived by his wife Donna (Forshey) of 33 years, a son Gregory and a daughter Lisa, four brothers; Perry (Cheri) Snyder, Brent (Robin) Snyder, Davy (Rachel) Snyder, and Raymond “Junebug” Snyder and four sisters; Brenda (Don) McClead, Rhonda Crooks, Janet (Dave) McPherson and Katherine Snyder. He loved his many nieces and nephews including Staci Marsh, Samantha Snyder, Keenan Hays, Levi Wright, Shannon McCartney, Cody and Samantha Watson and his honorary grand-children, Matthew “Dink”, Kooper, and Ryland.

Special friends were Britany Rupe “Mit”, Roxy, Morgan and Cheyenne Heskett, David Rupe, he always said they were his “Bestest”. His canine pals Max and Buffy were never far from his side.

Duke was loved by all who knew him as he was usually the life of the party and a genuine prankster.

Visitation will be held at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home in Coolville, Ohio on Saturday September 7, 2019 from 4-8 p.m. Friends and family are welcome to come and share their memories.
