Gertrude Deeter Ahart
Gertrude Deeter Ahart, 99, formerly of Belpre and Coolville passed away Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
She was born Nov. 18, 1916 daughter of the late Levi and Nora Wires Hamilton. She attended the Guysville Community Church, First Church of the Nazarene and was a Primary Sunday School Teacher. Gertrude was a 1936 graduate of Carthage Troy High School and enjoyed quilting, gardening and sewing.
She is survived by a son, Okey and Clea Ahart of Belpre; a daughter, Marteena Armour of Indianapolis, IN; 3 granddaughters, Crystal (Brad) Lashley, Rebekah (Kevin) Thompson and Tawn (Todd) Adkins; a grandson, Paul (Brenda) Armour; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren and a sister, Marjorie Scott of Belpre.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Okey C. Ahart; a son-in-law, Meredith Armour; 3 brothers and 5 sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M., Saturday, April 16, 2016 at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home, Coolville, OH with Pastor Andy Bird officiating. Burial will follow in the Weatherby Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 9 A.M., until time of service at the funeral home.
