COOLVILLE—Gerald Lee Summerfield, 80, of Coolville, OH, passed away peacefully at home on April 7, 2023.
He was born January 3, 1943, in Long Bottom, OH, to the late Rexal and Annie (Piggott) Summerfield.
Gerald was a loving husband and father who is survived by his wife, Janet Antle-Summerfield; children, Amber Zipfel of Littleton, CO, Dr. Michael (Mary) Summerfield of Avon Lake, OH and Carol (Phil) Walter of Bradenton, FL; siblings, Sharon Donahue of Coolville, OH, Tom (Barb) Summerfield of Reedsville, OH, and Sina May (Bob) Murphy of Reedsville, OH; grandchildren, Justin, Ryan and Shawn Zipfel of Littleton, CO and Nicole, Nathan, Marisa and Michael of Avon Lake, OH.
He was a veteran who proudly served in the U.S. Army. He was a hard worker who devoted 33 years to Dupont and always willing to help a family member, neighbor or co-worker in need.
The family would like to offer a sincere thank you to all the healthcare professionals at Marietta Home Health and Hospice, Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital and the Charleston Area Medical Center.
At Gerald’s request, no services will be held.
