George "Bud" Kelly

George Charles "Bud" Kelly, age 84 of Albany, Ohio went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 15, 2025. Born in Columbus, Ohio July 26, 1940, George was a generous man who loved spending time with his family. A veteran of the US Army, he spent his professional career as a licensed general contractor building homes first in Columbus, Ohio and later larger scale projects such as hotels and residential communities through the southeast and the state of Florida. He was an avid golfer and had a lifelong love of football, loyally following the Ohio State Buckeyes and Kansas City Chiefs. 

George is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Judy; sons Jeffery (Kimberly) Kelly of Albany, Eric Andrew (Amy) Kelly of Hilliard; grandsons, Matthew and Michael Kelly; granddaughter, Alex (Luke) Stahlnaker; sister, Pat MacPherson of Columbus; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Charlies Schrader. He was preceded in death by his parents, George L. and Doris C. Kelly. 

A visitation service will be 1PM-3PM on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Christ Community Wesleyan Church with military honors being conducted at 3PM and a memorial service to follow with Pastor Josh Fakhoury officiating. George had several shelter dogs throughout the years and it's asked in lieu of flowers that contributions to the Athens County Dog Shelter be made in his memory, 13 W. Washington Street, Athens, OH 45701. The family wishes to acknowledge the kind and caring treatment he received during his recent stay at the Kimes Nursing Home.
