Gene Hunt, 79, of Parkersburg died Saturday March 22, 2014 at Camden-Clark Memorial Campus in Parkersburg.

Born on January 8, 1935 in Widen, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Earl and Myrtle Holcomb Hunt. He was retired from Shell Chemical Company and attended Faith Chapel Church. Gene was a US Marine Corp Veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Osborne Hunt; a son Ken (Christy) Hunt; a daughter Jeannie Abbott; five grandchildren Jake and Maddie Hunt, Sarah, Audrey and Erin Abbott: one brother Jearold Hunt; and a sister Maycil Wilson.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Delford; and a sister Helen Ramsey.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 26, at 1:00 at the Grace Brethren Church in Coolville with the Rev George Horner officiating. Burial will be in the Coolville Cemetery. Friends may call at the Grace Brethren Church in Coolville on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Services are being conducted by the White-Schwarzel Funeral Home in Coolville.
