Gail E. McCoy

NEW Marshfield – Gail E. McCoy, 80, of New Marshfield, died Tuesday, August 14, 2018 Grant Medical Center.

Born January 31, 1938 in Athens, he was the son of the late Arthur and Elizabeth McDaniel McCoy.

He was a former employee of the Athens Mental Health Center and retired from Ohio University. He was a US Army Veteran, an avid Ohio State University football fan and he also loved fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon McCoy; a son, Michael (Pam) McCoy of New Lexington; a step-daughter, Christy (Michael) McCandlish of New Marshfield; a granddaughter, Sheila (Andy) Stoneburner of New Lexington; a grandson, Brian McCoy a great granddaughter, Gwen Stoneburner of New Lexington; a brother, Robert (Verna) McCoy of Athens; a sister, Maxine (William) Kyle of Athens; three brothers-in-law, Keith Jeffers of New Marshfield, Roger (Janet) Crow of Athens, Mike Crow of Jacksonville; and his dog that he called Sweetheart (Gidget) and his dog Lucy who he took for a ride on his tractor and other fury babies, little Ann and little Dan.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth McCoy.

Services will be Saturday at 1:00 PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Rev. H. Willard Love officiating. Burial will be in New Marshfield Cemetery.
