Forrest “Roger” Barnett
TUPPERS PLAINS--Forrest “Roger” Barnett, age 71 of Tuppers Plains Ohio passed away peacefully at the Darst home in Pomeroy, Ohio on November 1, 2022.
He was born on March 21, 1951, in Parkersburg, WV. He was the son of Clarence Barnett and the late Georgia Barnett. Roger was a 1969 graduate of Eastern High School and a 1973 graduate from Ohio University. He retired from American Electric Power after many years of service at the Philip Sporn plant. He was a member of The Masonic Lodge 337 in Coolville, Ohio. Roger enjoyed life’s simple pleasures with a great love of the outdoors including fishing trips to Canada with his family and close friends. He also loved ice fishing, caribou hunting, deer hunting, and always enjoyed having family and friends over for a good BBQ.
Roger is survived by his father, Clarence Barnett of Belpre, Ohio, son and daughter in law, Michael and Jessica Barnett, daughter Brittany Barnett, and his grandchildren Trace and Aubrey Barnett, and Cole Brookover. He is also survived by a special brother and sister in law Ron and Carol Barnett, niece Robyn Derosa (Mike and son Brady) and nephew Steven Barnett (Allison and sons Cooper and Case). Roger is also survived by a long time companion Denise Laughery , along with her grandchildren Andrew Laughery, and Ella and Amelia Bannie.
He was preceded in death by his mother Georgia.
Family, friends, and others whose lives were touched by Roger are invited to funeral services at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home in Coolville, Ohio on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at 3 P.M., with burial following in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home Saturday, from 1 P.M. until time of service.
