Millfield - Esther E. McClain, 83, of Millfield, died Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at the Laurels of Athens.

Born March 12, 1941, in Millfield, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Dorothy Stowers Smith. Esther retired from Hocking Valley Bank in Athens. In her spare time she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, watching NASCAR and cheering on the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals.

She is survived by two sons, Richard (Tami) Green and John (Annie) Green; one stepson, Rusty (Lisa) Kisor; seven grandchildren, Amy Roberts, Richard Green, Andrew Green, Kendra Green, Brandi Kisor, Luke Kisor and Jimmy Kisor; five great grandchildren, Justin, Michael, Ziah, Jimmy and Avina; three sisters, Shirley Brown, Judy (Dwight) Davis and Linda Toole; one brother, Frank (Emily) Smith and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Melvin Green, James Kisor and Les McClain; one stepson, Jim Kisor; three brothers, Charles Smith, Herman Smith and Jimmy Smith and two sisters, Helen Sycks and Donna Sams.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at the Hughes Funeral Home in Athens with Steve Bentley officiating. Burial will be in the Hilltop Cemetery in Millfield, Ohio.
