Essie May Modesitt Adams
Essie May Modesitt Adams, 89, formerly of LaGrange and Coolville, OH passed away at the home of her daughter in Belpre, OH to be with our Gracious Lord on December 30th, 2012 after an extended illness.
Essie was born Nov. 26th, 1923 in Meadow Brook, WV to the late Wm. Homer and Armenta Modesitt. She was a gifted quilter and loved her gardens, reading and she mostly loved her family. Her love for her grandchildren was evident at all times.
Essie is survived by her children, Sharon Bailey Ron of Belpre, OH, Richard Adams Kay of Flemming Island, FL, Sue Grady of Berea, OH, Glenna Cline James, Sr. of Coolville, OH and Missy Doyle of Coolville, OH; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Essie was preceded in death by her husband and best friend of 53 years, Julius Glenn Adams; 8 brothers and 4 sisters.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 2nd, 2013 at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home, Coolville, OH with Rev. Helen Kline officiating. Burial will be in the Coolville Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 5-8 p.m.
