Edwin A. Battin
REEDSVILLE—Edwin A. Battin, 83, of Reedsville, OH, passed away Friday, Feb. 1, 2019 at Cabell-Huntington Hospital in Huntington, WV.
He was born Dec. 9, 1935 in Parkersburg, WV, son of the late Alexander and Esther Balderson Battin. He was an Air Force Veteran, a member of the Reedsville Fellowship Church of the Nazarene, a retired self-employed painter and he was a former employee of the Ames Plant in Parkersburg for many years. He loved hunting, fishing and singing.
Edwin is survived by his wife, Bonnie Buchanan Battin; 2 sons, Michael and Timothy; a daughter, Deborah; 3 step-sons, Jimmy, Timmy and Danny; 2 step-daughters, Jennifer and Debbie; 4 grandchildren, 4 sisters, Donna, Barbara, Nancy and Janet; a very special caretaker, June McCloy and his dogs, Chichi and Malzer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Doug and a daughter, Marcy.
A memorial service will be held at 2 P.M., Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019 at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home in Coolville, OH with Pastor Robbie Keene officiating.
The family will be accepting friends Sunday, from 1 P.M. until time of service.
