Edith Juanita Simmons
COOLVILLE-- Edith Juanita Simmons, 89, of Coolville, Ohio passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at The Wyngate Senior Living Community in Vienna, West Virginia.
She was born April 5, 1929 in Coolville, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Meigs Blaine and Amelia Florence (Rothlisberger) Chapman. She retired after many years of service as a seamstress at Yonkers in Parkersburg, West Virginia. After retirement as a seamstress, she also worked at the Holiday Inn of Parkersburg. She enjoyed cooking and caring for her family. She especially enjoyed the family times spent in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Juanita is survived by one son, Larry and Linda Simmons of Coolville, Ohio; three grandchildren, L. Michael Simmons (Billy Caplinger) of Vienna, West Virginia, Eric Jay Simmons of Coolville, Ohio, and Jamie Nicole Atha (Matt) of Coolville, Ohio; four great-grandchildren, Lane, Adalynn, Colton, and Bryson all of Coolville, Ohio; a sister, Alma Jackson (Murl) of Columbus, Ohio; two special nieces, Paula Todd of East Liverpool, Ohio and Janet Sullivan of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and many other nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Lawrence "Buck" Simmons; three brothers, Frank, Howard, and Bernard; two sisters, Chessie and Virginia; and a special sister-in-law, Carol (Simmons) Beha.
Visitation will be at the White-Schwarzel Funeral Home in Coolville, Ohio, on Friday, September 7, 2018 from 4 to 8 pm, and one hour prior to services. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, September 8, 2018 with the Reverends Katherine Riley, Ian Reid, and Craig Holler officiating.
