Edith Luman Massie
Edith Luman Massie 96 of Hockingport, OH passed away in her home on May 15. She was the daughter of Clarence & Dora Luman and was raised in Cadmus/Gallipolis area in Gallia Co., OH.
Edith was a member of the Minear Chapter of the order of Eastern Star #274, and a member of the Porterfield Baptist Church for several years where she sang in the choir.
Edith was preceded in death by her husband Everett, a son, Jefferson Lee Massie and brothers: Harry, Hayward, Roland, Fred, Woodrow, Wayne and Clarence Luman.
She leaves a daughter, Jean Massie living at home, a son, Keith Massie and his wife Mary Lou of Coolville, OH, four grandchildren, Kevin Massie and his wife Kimberly of Manassas, VA, Lee Massie and his wife Kim of Orlando, FL and Mark Massie of Orlando, FL. There are five great-grandchildren, Alexis, Connelly, Cassidy, Regal & Peyton Massie. Surviving is a sister, Edna Rogers of Gallipolis, OH.
Special appreciation is expressed to the Porterfield Baptist Church visitation team who over the recent years of Edith's living at home faithfully provided a very special ministry through the Grace of God to the family. Thank you to all and God Bless you. Special thanks to Lucille Bush, Isabelle Burkbeck and Hazel Gibbs for their help in taking care of our Mother over the past few years.
Funeral arrangements are being coordinated by White-Schwarzel Funeral Home in Coolville, OH. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 17th from 6-8 P.M. at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home in Coolville, OH. The funeral will be held on Friday, May 18th at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Coolville Cemetery.
