On August 15, 2018 at 7 in the morning, the Dayton Harmon Pennington family lost their glue. Donald I. Dayton born March 14,1952 of Athens, OH (formerly of Wilmington, OH) passed away peacefully in his home. Donald, also known as Doc, lost his battle with lung and kidney disease. Doc was loved dearly by his friends and family. He was admired for his wry humor, giving nature, and hardworking spirit. He was passionate about woodworking, gardening, tractors and even more-so about his 7 grandchildren who referred to him as “Papa”.
Donald is survived by his wife and partner of 48 years Dianne Dayton, his children Heather(Jessie) Harmon of Athens, Justin(Stacy) Dayton of Loveland, and Mallory(Josh) Pennington of Frankfort, KY, his seven grandchildren and best friends Alivia and Mia Harmon, Haley, Cassandra, and Natasha Dayton and Madelyn and Easton Pennington. Along with his five brothers James of Columbus, Bill of Broken Arrow, OK, Charles(Hope) of Hillsboro, Dean(Amy) of Columbus, and Dale of Martinsburg, WV and a slew of nieces and nephews he adored. He is preceded in death by his parents Donald E. Dayton and Dorothy J. Dayton and his brother Stephen.

A memorial service will be held at the Logan Conference Center in Logan, OH on September 8, 2018 from 12-4PM, food will be served. Please come armed with your favorite memories to share. In honor of Doc please consider wearing your favorite flannel, plaid or pocket t-shirt.
