Denver D. Lightner
Denver D. Lightner, passed away peacefully at his home April 12th, 2015 surrounded by loved ones.
He was born Dec. 24th, 1921 in Wirt County, WVa. He served his country during WW II as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army serving in the South Pacific. Denver worked for the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture and continued to work his family's farm well after he retired. He was a member of Christian Life Center in Parkersburg, WVa.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lora Belle Pugh Lightner; their three sons, Denver, Larry and Sue and Stephen and Bobbi Jo along with three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Denver is welcomed home by his parents, David Henry Lightner and Rosa Nell Lucky Lightner; his brother Earl Lucky; sister Florence Lockhart and a host of friends and relatives.
Services will be held at 1 P.M., Thursday, April 16, 2015 at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home, Coolville, OH with Keith Mendenhall & Randall Moss officiating. Burial will be in the Bethany Cemetery in Guysville where military graveside services will be conducted by K.T. Crossen Post #21 and Albany VFW Post 9893.
Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday, from 11 A.M. until time of service.
