Millfield - Denver Dee Keirns, 74, of Millfield, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2024 at The Laurels in Athens.

Born April 20, 1950, in Athens, Ohio, he was the son of the late Walter Franklin and Joretta Schweikert Keirns. Denver was a 1968 graduate of Athens High School and a member of McDougal Church. He worked in the coal mines for many years before taking a job with Athens County Recycling from where he retired. He had a passion for raising and riding horses. He enjoyed traveling to Amish Country, visiting all the farms and sampling all the Amish cooking. 

He is survived by his wife of fourteen years, LeaAnne Keirns; one son, Travis (Katie) Keirns; one stepson, Jason (Dawn) Flowers; one stepdaughter, Cassandra Flowers; four grandsons, Elijah, Carter, Maddox and Archer; three granddaughters, Natalia, Aubrey and Addison; one brother, Ervin (Vicki) Keirns.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Fran Williams Keirns and six brothers and sisters.

Private services will be held at Hilltop Cemetery in Millfield, Ohio with Stanley Strode officiating. Friends are encouraged to sign the online guestbook at ehwfh.com. Arrangements have been entrusted with the Hughes Funeral Home in Athens.
