David Lee Whittaker

David Lee Whittaker, 44 of Stewart, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 13, 2021 at OhioHealth O’Bleness Hospital. Born July 13, 1977 in Athens, he was the son of the late Alva Charles Whittaker, Sr. and Joann Baker Francis.

A 1996 graduate of Federal Hocking High School, he would go on to work in the construction field. David was talented carpenter as he spent most of his career building houses in the area and roofing. He cherished his family and will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife Linda Kay Ailshire Whittaker; four children, Matthew Stocker, Cayleigh Hines, Veronica Ailshire, Jennifer West; two brothers, Alva Whittaker, Jr., James Whittaker; two sisters, Joan (Bill) Jones, Betty (Mick) Cunningham; aunt, Rosalee (Carl) Klingenberg; 3 nieces, Tami (Chris) Kirby, Amber (Chris) Whittaker-Linson, Amanda Green; two nephews, Jeffery “Levi” (Jasmine) Cunningham, James Whittaker, Jr.; and many great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his nephew, Brian Cunningham.

A funeral service will be 1PM on Monday, December 20, 2021 at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Pastor Stan West officiating. Cremation will follow the service.
