David Elkins
Tuppers Plains—David L. Elkins, 77, of Tuppers Plains, OH went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 28, 2008.
He was born March 11, 1931 in Charleston, WV son of the late James and Flora Botkin Elkins. David served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a retired truck driver for Air Products. After retirement, he enjoyed driving a tour bus for Park Tours Coach USA. He was a charter member of Fellowship Church of the Nazarene in Reedsville, OH.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Judy; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Robin and Jimmie Putman of Coolville and Wendy and William Spurlock of Reedsville; a daughter, Velvet Elkins of New Martinsville; 4 grandchildren, Jimmie III, Joshua, Sari and Katie; 3 great-grandchildren, Lillyann, Emma and Rex; a brother, and sister-in-law, Ronald and Linda Elkins; a sister-in-law, Athlene Elkins; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James; and a granddaughter, Kristi.
Funeral services will be held 1 P.M., Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home, Coolville, OH with Reverends Russell Carson, Teresa Waldeck and John Douglas officiating. Burial will be in the Lance Family Cemetery, Tuppers Plains, OH.
