Dana Ruth (Robinson) McGraner, 90, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2024, with her family by her side.
Dana was born on July 9, 1933, in Athens County, OH to the late Francis and Mary Geneva (Gose) Robinson. Elected homecoming queen in her senior year, Dana graduated from Chauncey-Dover High School in 1951. After graduation she went to work at McBee Company, where she met Richard McGraner. The couple married in 1953. Dana continued her career at Ohio University in the admissions and financial aid departments until she retired in 1995. Dana and Richard spent many happy years together raising their girls, hosting family reunions, and being a home to all who stopped by. After Richard's death in 1996, Dana continued to enjoy spending time with family and keeping up on the latest national news.
She is survived by her beloved daughters Teresa (Paul) Scarmack and Kelee (John) Tritipo; son-in-law John Barrington; grandchildren Megan Koon (Darrel) Willey, Rachel Moorehead (Jack) Cunningham, Ashley Barrington (Chris Ludlow), Alison Barrington (Brandon Patterson), and Richard (Lauren) Moorehead; eleven great-grandchildren; siblings Dick Robinson, Dorothy (Don) Daugherty, Norma Bails, Judy Jones, Paul (Lana) Robinson; sister-in-law Rita Robinson; and countless nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and -nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Dana was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Patricia Barrington, brothers Frank, Jerry, and Roger Robinson, sisters Patricia Stanley and Linda Jones, and many family members who she loved very much.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the New Marshfield Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held following the burial from 12:00-2:00 at the Clubhouse at High Pointe, 1400 Altamonte Drive, Athens, OH 45701. All who know and loved Dana or family are welcome. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider donating to the Fairhope Hospice & Palliative Care (https://fairhopehospice.org/) or to your favorite charity in Dana's memory.
