Cynthia Wallace Love, 85 of Athens, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2023 at The Laurels of Athens. She was born December 21, 1937 in Millfield, Ohio to D. Lawerence and Emma Merle Brown Wallace.
She was the Director of Counseling and Career Services at Montgomery County Community College outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for 30 years, retiring in 2003. She graduated from Athens High School in 1955 and Ohio University with a Bachelor's Degree in journalism in 1958. She was a patron of the arts and had a deep appreciation for reading.
Cynthia is survived by her sister, Sharon (Bill Wethington) Wallace; brother, Daniel Wallace; nieces, Donna (Glenn) Davies, Cindy (Ernie) Perry, Kim (Terry) Stires; nephews, Danny (Yvonne) Cain, Chris (Cindy) Wallace; and special friend, Susan Wagner.
Cynthia was preceded in death by parents, D. Lawerence and Emma Merle Wallace; daughter, Tammie Zeig; infant brother, Terry Wallace; and her beloved cat, Blackie.
The family wishes to extend a special thank-you to The Laurels of Athens and OhioHealth Hospice for their care and kindness.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home where a funeral service will be held at 1PM on Friday, October 6, 2023. Burial will follow the funeral in Hilltop Cemetery.
