GUYSVILLE – Clara B. “Pete” Midkiff, 90, of Guysville, passed away Friday Afternoon, July 6, 2018 at O’Bleness Memorial Hospital.
Born March 22, 1928 in South Charleston, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Clay J. and Annette Massie Littler.
Clara made her home with her daughter and son-in-law and was a very proud homemaker. Mom loved to sew and can food that Dad grew in his beautiful gardens. She was a great help to Dad on the farm, feeding animals, baling hay, and loading firewood. She loved to go shopping with her daughter and granddaughters. She was a former member of the Daughters of America and enjoyed taking part of the drill team for county and state functions. She enjoyed bowling with her friends when she was younger.
She is survived by her daughter, Patti (Bob) Smith of Guysville; her son, Ronald D. (Sherly) Midkiff of Guysville; grandchildren, Trudie(Don) Stroup of Athens, Amy Van Voorhis of Mechanicsburg, Kari Jones of Urbana, Tiffany Midkiff of Springfield, Amanda Seeley and Daniel Midkiff of Florida, Dustin Midkiff of Nelsonville; Great grandchildren, Rachel Bell, Betsy Stokes, Sara Van Voorhis, Jenna Lemire, Josh Toney, Shy and Israil Smith, , Wyatt and Carter Midkiff, Noah, Jonah, Elijah Seeley; and 15 great great grandchildren. We were lucky enough to have five generations.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Chester (Curly) Midkiff; a great granddaughter, Emily; a brother, Roy Littler; two half brothers, Paul Littler, Clarence Tate; and a half sister, Myrtle Dever.
Services will be Monday at 1:00 PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Rev. Phil Foster officiating. Burial will be in Burson Cemetery.
