Clara Jean Criss
Clara Jean Walters Criss, 81, of Torch, OH passed away May 26, 2018 at Camden-Clark Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 3, 1936 in Polkadotte, Lawrence County, OH, daughter of the late Emmett and Naomi Minor Walters. She attended school at Orient and Harrisburg, OH. Jean married Glenn Criss on April 18, 1955 and lived at Midland, OH until 1980 and then Columbus, OH until 2000 and retired to Torch. Jean was a memeber of Athens County Gideons Aux., Torch Methodist Church, Cary Chapter 221 OES in Blanchester, OH and Albany Chapter 558 OES.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Glenn; 2 sons, David (Pam) Criss of Sidney, OH and Anthony (Patti) Criss of Columbus, OH; a daughter, Connie Blair of Belpre, OH; a son-in-law, Charles Blair of Jamestown, OH; grandsons, Michael Blair, Thomas (Victoria) Blair, Brian Kratzer, Wayne Criss, Chris Leaper and Joshua Criss; granddaughters, Jillyn Criss, Barbara Criss, Jessica Criss and Stephanie Blair; 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents; 5 brothers; 4 sisters, Jean was the last of her family to pass away; a son, Gary; a daughter-in-law, Rita; a granddaughter, Elizaberth Criss.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, May 31, 2018 at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home in Coolville, OH. Burial will follow in the Torch Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday, from 5-8 P.M. with an Eastern Star service at 8 P.M.
