Christy Ann Nunn

Athens - Christy Ann Nunn, 68, of Athens, died Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Kimes Nursing and Rehab Center in Athens.

Born July 29, 1956 in Athens, Ohio, she was the daughter of Alma “Catherine” Webb Cremeans and the late Benjamin Cremeans. Christy was a 1973 graduate of Alexander High School and attended Tri-County Vocational School, a United States Army veteran and retired from Scott Air Force Base. She enjoyed relaxing on her porch drinking coffee, spending time with her family, adoring her grandchildren and observing nature.

Along with her mother, she is survived by two sons, Michael (Amy) Nunn and Alijah (Tamra) Nunn; five grandchildren, Jamai, Isaiah, Shaniah, A’monie and “soon to come Alijah Jr; one brother, Wayne Cremeans; two sisters, Carolyn (John) Chapman and Connie Dixon and her best friend and cousin Sue Meeks. 

Besides her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Shelby Gene Nunn in 2007 and brother-in-law, Gilbert Dixon.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at the Hughes Funeral Home in Athens with Amy Nunn officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM. Christy will then be taken to St. Louis MO for a memorial service at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 2 Rivers Church, 96 Hubble, O’Fallon, MO 63368. There will be a visitation there from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM. Burial will be in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St Louis, MO.
