Christopher William Roell

NELSONVILLE – Christopher William Roell, 24, of Nelsonville, died unexpectedly early Saturday morning, February 17, 2018 in New Columbia, Pennsylvania.

Born June 14, 1993, he was the son of Bernard C. and Jennifer L. Sanders Roell, Jr. of Nelsonville.

Christopher attended Daniel Boone High School in Birdsboro, Pennsylvania where he was recognized as an outstanding soccer player. He continued his higher education at UC Santa Barbara where he went on to play collegiate soccer. At the time of his passing, he was enrolled in Bloomsburg University in Pennsylvania. Christopher was a true friend to all and impacted everyone he met in a positive manner. He will truly be missed by all friends and family.

Besides his parents, he is survived by a brother, Bernard C. (Hannah) Roell, III of Nelsonville; a sister, Sarah Roell of Nelsonville; maternal grandmother, Margaret A. Sanders of Millfield; paternal grandmother, Emma A. Roell of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Charles William “Bill” Sanders; and his paternal grandfather, Bernard C. Roell, Sr.

Services will be Saturday at 2:00 PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Rev. Adam Carlson officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 4 to 7 PM and Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Following the service, all of Christopher's friends and family are invited to Rocky Boots Community Hall, 45 E. Canal Street, Nelsonville, Ohio 45764, for a reception.
