Pomeroy – Charles “Bill” W. Reeves, 88, of Pomeroy, Ohio, died Sunday June 7, 2015 at his residence.
Born September 17, 1926 in New Town, Ohio, he was the son of the late Dewey and Lena Nunnimaker Reeves. Charles was enlisted in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Timken Roller Bearing in Columbus . Bill was a member of the Middleport `American Legion Post 128. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, all sports activities and watching his great granddaughters play softball. He was a father figure for many who knew him as Uncle Bill and Pops. Mr. Reeves never had a bad word to say about anyone.
He is survived by a son, Randy Reeves of Pomeroy; a daughter Kathie Reeves (Mike McKnight) of Monticello, Florida; one grandson Shane (Becky) McKnight; one granddaughter Amy (Sammy) Rivera; six great grandchildren Whitney and Taylor McKnight, Mariah, Kataleena, Amanda, and Chari Rivera; one great-great grandson Christian; close friend and sister-in-law Bonnie Criner and a host of nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Barbara “Jane” Chandler Reeves and 2 sisters.
Graveside military services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Cherry Ridge Cemetery. Services are by the Ewing-Schwarzel Funeral Home in Pomeroy. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Appalachian VNA, Hospice and Health Services, PO Box 768 Athens, OH 45701.
