BELPRE—Charles Leroy Barr, 81, of Belpre, OH, passed away Sunday, Dec. 8, 2024, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 15, 1943, in Reedsville, OH, son of the late Charles Francis and Evelyn Taylor Barr. He was a retired Army Veteran; a lifetime member of the VFW Post 1212 in Parkersburg and a lifetime member of Athens AmVets #76. He loved camping, boating, fishing, racing and was an avid Ohio State, Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Reds Fan.
He is survived by a son, Chuck and Delta Dawn Barr; daughter, Missy McClain (Justin Pinkerton); 2 step-daughters, Denise Ramsey (Erica Sheppard) and Jeanine and Jon Hurley; grandchildren, Zack, Vaneta, Cameron, Brett (Leanne), Tyler (Kylie), Drew (Jackie), Jeremy (Ashley), Brayden and Connor; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Jaiden, Khloe, Kinsley, Joey, Addy, Noah and Carson; sister, Marlene and Don Putman; Brian Elliott, whom he considered an adopted son and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Vaneta Barr; 2nd wife, Jeri Barr and twin grandsons, Brandon and Bradley.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2024, at White Funeral Home in Coolville, OH, with Derek Putman officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery, where military graveside services will be conducted by the Athens American Legion Post 21 and the Albany VFW.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday, from 10 A.M. until time of service.
