Charlene Anderson

Charlene Anderson, age 88, of Coolville, Ohio died Friday, Sept. 24, 2010 at her residence.
She was born March 17, 1922 in Coolville, Ohio, daughter of the late Perry E. and Grace Humphrey Bingman. She graduated from Carthage Troy High School and Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital School of Nursing Cum Laude. She worked at her profession as an RN in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and West Virginia. She was a member of Pioneer Presbyterian Church in Belpre, where she served as deacon and elder. She also served as a volunteer with Belpre Area Ministries and at Arcadia Nursing Center in Coolville.
She married William J. Bill Anderson on December 14, 1944, he survives. She is also survived by one daughter, Karen Arthur Downing; one son, Bill Marjorie Anderson of Portland, Oregon; 4 grandchildren, Andy and Tiffany Downing and Grace and Sarah Anderson; seven great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren and two step-great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Meriam Bibbee of Dallas, Georgia as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two grandsons, Craig William Downing and Jon Downing.
A memorial service will be held 11 A.M., Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010 at Pioneer Presbyterian Church, Belpre, OH.
Friends may call at the church one hour prior to service.
Arrangements are being handled by White-Schwarzel Funeral Home, Coolville, OH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to Pioneer Presbyterian Church or The Ella Bloomheart Scholarship Fund at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
