Bruce E. Boyer

Bruce E. Boyer, 93, of Guysville, OH passed away Monday, Feb. 9, 2015 at Hickory Creek of Athens.
He was born Oct. 9, 1921 in Spencer, WV son of the late Coy and Icy Bailey Boyer. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII, owner of the former Boyer's Grocery in Stewart for 12 1/2 years and retired from A.B. Chance Co. in Parkersburg. He was also a farmer and loved fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Ivol M. Whited Boyer; 3 daughters, Barbara and Bill Sams, Margaret and Dave Everson and Karen Frost; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandie Alkire; a son, Patrick Boyer and a brother, Maurice Boyer.
Services will be held at 11 A.M., Friday, Feb. 13, 2015 at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home, Coolville, OH with Pastor Jim Lambert officiating. Burial will be in the Coolville Cemetery where military graveside services will be conducted.
Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to service on Friday.
