MURPHY – Bonnie Opal Burgess-Carpenter Murphy passed peacefully in her sleep and went home to be with the Lord on March 9, 2008, at Winchester Place Nursing Facility in Canal Winchester, OH. She was former long time resident of the Parkersburg, WV & Coolville, OH area. Bonnie was born February 7, 1921, in Blair, WV, the 4th of seven children. She is preceded in death by her parents Ed & Vicie Burgess, first husband Charles B. Carpenter, husband Hobert Murphy, grandson Lonnie Smith, son Charles C. Carpenter, daughters Barbara Larimer and Judy Ditchko.
She is survived by one sister, Effie Cook of Blair, WV, daughters Connie Vlack Paul of Columbus, OH, Brenda Wiles Steven of Georgetown, DE, Peggy James Webb of Pickerington, OH, son Terry Florence Carpenter of Parkersburg, WV, daughter-in-law Joann Carpenter of Belpre, OH, 13 granddaughters, 16 grandsons, and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Harbor Light Hospice, 751 Brooksedge Dr., Westerville, OH 43081, or your local humane society.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home, Coolville, OH.
Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from noon until time of service.
