Betty Ann Morrison Nutter passed away on Sunday September 25, 2016 at Marietta Memorial Hospital, Marietta, OH. She was the daughter of the late Robert R and Edith Pauline Fox Morrison. She died peacefully in her sleep.
Betty was born in Weston, WV, and grew up in Morgantown, WV, graduating from Morgantown High School in 1949. On June 24, 1950, she married the late Harold L Nutter. Over the years, they lived in the tri-state area settling in Vienna in the late 1950’s. Betty worked at Universal Glass, Camden Clark Hospital, and the office of the late Dr. Randall Connolly, MD. Over the years, Betty was involved in Girl Scouts, Les Amis, was a member of the James Wood Chapter of the DAR. She had been a member of the United Methodist Women’s Guild for many years.
Betty was mom to three children, Karen Lee (Jim) Ali; Stephen Harold (Marla) Nutter; and Russell Wade (Patty) Nutter. Betty is also survived by nine grandchildren, Jamie (Kim), Matthew (Bekah), and Ann (Steve); Misty (JW), Brandon, Nic (Stacy), and Nicole Nutter; Maddie and Briar Nutter. Seven great-grandchildren complete the family.
In accordance with Betty’s express wishes, there will be no visitation. Internment will be in the IOOF Friendship Cemetery in Berlin, WV. A celebration of Betty’s life will be held Saturday, October 8, at 1 pm at the cemetery. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 9 at 2 pm at the Reedsville, OH, UMC where Betty was a member.
