BENJAMIN T LADD
Benjamin T. Ladd was born July 3, 1936 on the family farm near Cutler, Ohio. His parents were Samuel Watson Ladd and Alice Linton Ladd (both deceased) Ben is survived by his brother, Harry Ladd (Doris) and sisters Joanne Grunwald (Larry) and Nancy Law (Charles) and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Ben attended Cutler Elementary and Bartlett High School, graduating in 1955. He worked on the family dairy farm and served in the U.S. Army as an M. P. in South Korea after the Korean War.
He continued to farm and worked full time at Union Carbide, at the Marietta site, which was taken over by BP Amoco Advanced Plastics and later by Solvay. He retired in 1997.
Ben's most enjoyable hobby was flying. He was a licensed pilot. He owned a 1946 Taylorcraft airplane, which he completely refinished. He was an avid aviator, flying to several location in the United States.
Ben was a skilled mechanic and a kind and generous person. He will be missed by his family, close friends, and feline pets.
The memorial service in memory of Ben will be Saturday, July 18th at 11 AM at the Centennial Church on Frost Road, located about 1/4 mile south from Federal Road.
