ALBANY - Bela R. Kastely, 74, of Albany, OH died Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at his home. Bela had been battling cancer for nearly 15 years. He was born February 17, 1943 in Nelsonville, OH, he was the son of the late Andy and Wavel Williams Kastely. He lived in the Sugar Creek area of Athens and was a graduate of Chauncey Dover High School. He was a member of the Athens High School Athletic Hall of Fame, The Trimble Lodge F & AM 557 Chapter of the Masonic Lodge, The Athens County Shrine Club, and The Hocking Valley Gun Club He is survived by a son Ken Kastely and wife Wendy and grandson Lane from Carroll, Oh, a Son Matt and grandchildren Olivia and Alex from Anderson, Indiana; a sister Tanya Ziegler and brother in law Tom Ziegler from Columbus, OH and niece Amy Balsimo from Lexington, KY and nephew David Ziegler from Charlotte, NC and their families. Services will be held at the Hughes Moquin Funeral Home on Saturday, June 3 from 12:00 to 5:00pm. No funeral service will follow. In lieu of flowers, Bela asked that friends make donations to either the James Cancer Hospital Office of Development in Columbus or to Ohio Health Hospice.
