Barbara J. Evener

CHAUNCEY - Barbara J. Evener, 85, of Chauncey, died Saturday morning, October 6, 2018, surrounded by her loved ones at her home.

Born April 30, 1933 in Athens County, she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret Daunch Nogrady.

She was a retired secretary at the Athens City Schools after 23 years, Graduate of Ohio University and an avid sports fan.

She is survived by her husband of almost 65 years: Richard “Pete” Evener; two sons, Rich and Todd Evener both of Chauncey; two daughters Becky (Mitch) Spray of Manassas, Va., Cheryl (Bill) Moritz of Orange, Texas and brother Dave (Jane) Nogrady of Chauncey, sister Tish Cunningham of Millfield; five grandchildren, Amanda Boone-Green, Matt Spray, Rachel McNiel, Luke Phelps, Ivy Evener; and eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Athens Memory Gardens. Friends and family may sign the online guestbook at our website, www.hughesmoquinfuneralhome.com.
