Arthur Ford Stambaugh
Arthur Ford Stambaugh, 93 years of Coolville, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2018 at Arcadia Valley.
He was born on Candy Run Road, Scioto County, Ohio on October 14, 1924 the youngest of eight to the late Arthur Blaine and Rosa Webb Stambaugh.
He graduated from Valley High School, Class of 1942 and won the medal of Good Conduct for his class. He was enlisted in WWII but received a deferment from the War Manpower Commission to remain on the farm. He and his father worked very hard to meet quotas. He had several jobs in construction, foundries, machinist’s shops, steel mills while always farming full time. He was on the original construction crew for the Piketon Uranium Enrichment Plant. As a loyal Union worker, he often was a pain to any employer who did not follow safety concerns. It is fitting he died on Father’s Day as he was a loving yet firm father.
Daddy leaves behind his three girls; Teena (Neil) Stambaugh of Coolville, Ohio, Jennifer (John) Stambaugh of Benton, Kentucky, and Laura (Jim) Stambaugh of Kingman, Arizona, seven grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren. He also leaves behind hissister Juanita Foster of Grove City, son-in-law Del Norman, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He is proceeded in death by his wife of fifty-three years, Virginia, and daughter Arlene Norman.
Funeral services are private graveside at Evergreen Cemetery.
