Hockingport - Alvin E. Pierce, 83, of Hockingport, died Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
Born March 11, 1933 in Athens, County, he was the son of the late Oscar and Josephine Wise Pierce. Alvin was a member Coolville Masonic Lodge F&AM 337, Columbus Scottish Rite, York Rite Athens, Columbus Aladdin Shrine, Athens County Shrine Club, New Marshfield Order of Eastern Star, Troy Township Senior Citizens, Athens Boat and Ski Club, Gideons and Hockingport Christian Church. He retired from AEP in Chillicothe where he was a supervisor.
He is survived by a son Randall (Rebecca) Pierce: a daughter Shauna Lee (Charles) Horvath; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a sister Carolyn Sue (Dennis) Creeger and several nieces and nephews.
Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Myrtle; three brothers, Gary, Roger, and Robert.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home in
Coolville with Rev Bill Duty officiating. Burial will be in the Coolville Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Friends are invited to sign the online guest book at whiteschwarzelfh.com.
