Alma Louisa Tucker Rood
Alma Louisa Tucker Rood, 82, of Coolville, OH passed away Sunday, March 29, 2015 at her residence.
She was born April 11, 1932 in Stewart, OH daughter of the late Arthur Andrew and Gladys Victoria McClain Tucker. Alma retired from Ohio University after 25 years as a custodian. She attended Allegany Wesleyan Church of Coolville.
She is survived by three daughters, Garland Faye Smith (Richard), Garnet Kay Lipps (Gale) of Vincent, OH and Elizabeth Horton (Butch) of Cutler, OH; a son, Curtis Rood (Connie) of Coolville, OH; seven brothers, Arthur Tucker, Pearl Tucker, Earl Tucker, Virgil Tucker, Pete Tucker, John Tucker and Robert Tucker; two sisters, Nida Rodehaver and Silvia Tucker; eleven grandchildren; two step-grandsons; eleven great-grandchildren; four step-great-granchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Edwin Rood; three sisters, Jessie Miellmier, Thelma Daniels and Nina May Snider; two sons, Edwin "Ed" Rood of Coolville, OH and Harley Rood of Creston, OH; a grandson, Edwin Rood Jr. of Brazil and a step-grandson, Brian Dotson.
Services will be held at 1 P.M., Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home, Coolville, OH with Glenn Easterling officiating. Burial will be in the Coolville Cemetery.
