Joanna Meade Weaver
COOLVILLE-- Joanna Meade Weaver, born June 18, 1928, in Asco, WV, to the late Columbus Joseph and Nelle V. Meade. Joanna was married to Blake A. Weaver on the 26th of May 1951 in Clintwood, VA.
Joanna received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education at Ohio University and taught for 30 years in the Federal Hocking School District. She was the recipient of the Jennings Scholar Award in Teaching. She was a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church in Tuppers Plains, OH, where she regularly attended and taught Sunday School. She was a member of the Jolly Workers and Retired Teachers groups. Joanna had many friends and was well-known in the Coolville area. She was blessed with a happy life, and her family and friends were precious to her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Blake Weaver; daughter, Melodie Weaver; grandson Jared Weaver; four brothers and five sisters.
She is survived by three sons, Llewelyn (Patti) Weaver, Jerry (Sherry) Weaver and Dion Weaver; two daughters, Rosanna Starr and Marilynn Butler (Rolf Lustig). She is also survived by two sisters, Norma Pennington and Louise (Bernie) Fannin; two brothers, Paul (Pat) Meade and Charles Meade; ten grandchildren: Dawn (Antoine) Graham, Tara (Keith) Harms, Major Jason, USMC, (Alicia) Weaver, TSgt Patrick Weaver, USAF, Jacob Weaver, Seth Weaver, Emily (Ian) Grant, Olivia (Matt) Krezenski, Austin Hughes and Cecilie (Kyle) McGhehey and 19 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, Aug. 5, 2018 at White-Schwarzel Funeral Home in Coolville, OH, with Pastor Mark Brookins officiating. Burial will follow in the Coolville Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home Saturday, from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M.
