NEW MARSHFIELD – Almeada J. Barber, 80, of New Marshfield, died Saturday morning, March 25, 2017 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Born February 16, 1937 in Fairview, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Hazel Freeman and Ethel Mae Cook Varner. She was a graduate of Rome Canaan High School and retired from Echoing Meadows. She is survived by two daughters, Della (Donald) Preston, Sonji (Randy) Miller, eight grandchildren; and a sister, Ruby (Haven) Van Fossen. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband who died March 25, 1964, Byron Barber; five siblings, Bernard Varner, Jacob Varner, William Varner, Magel mayles, and Jordie Varner. Services will be Wednesday at 1:00 PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Rev. David Preston officiating. Burial will be in Asbury Cemetery in Hocking County.
