ATHENS – Ruth T. Ingham, 88, of Athens, died early Sunday morning at The Wyngate Assisted Living facility in Parkersburg, WV. She was born in Bristol, TN, a daughter of the late Robert B. Torbett and Maude Salyer Torbett. She was a graduate of Bristol Tennessee High School and Sullins College and did graduate work at Ohio University. She had brief careers as a performance artist and teaching, but was principally a home maker. She is survived by a brother, Judge Gilbert Torbett of Bristol, TN; a sister-in-law, Alice Torbett of Knoxville, TN; a cousin, Thomas (Margi) Torbett of Kingsport, TN and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert K. Ingham; and a brother, David Torbett. A brief service will be Saturday at 11:00 AM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home, with her nephew David J Torbett officiating. Burial will be in Alexander Cemetery.
