MILLFIELD – Roger Lee Winchell, 22, of Millfield, died unexpectedly Thursday evening, January 12, 2017 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Roger was the happiest when he was in the woods hunting, riding motorcycles, and working on Chevy Trucks. The outdoors was his sanctuary. He also loved his dogs Dozer, Maple, Louise, and Molly. Born November 17, 1994 in Athens, he was the son of Marvin Lee and Samantha Smith Winchell, Jr. of Millfield. Besides his parents, he is survived by his fiancé who is carrying his child, Marah Williams of Millfield; two sisters, Chelsea (Kyle Chesser) Winchell of Nelsonville, Chasity Winchell of Millfield; a nephew, Brantley Chesser of Nelsonville; two nieces, Kylie and Raven Chesser of Nelsonville; his grandparents, Sharon Smith of Millfield, Oris and Sheila Smith of Millfield, Patricia Mayles of New Marshfield, Marvin Winchell, Sr. of Georgia; two aunts, Amanda Smith of Millfield, Chrissy (Mike) Funk of Glouster; four uncles, Leroy Smith of Millfield, Warren (Debbie) Smith of Albany, James (Sandy) Brown of Millfield, Danny (Esther) Brown of Millfield; and several cousins, and many special friends. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Roger Smith; and several uncles. Services will be Thursday at 1:00 PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Rev. Willard Love officiating.
