NEW MARSHFIELD – F. Samuel Ellis, 58, of New Marshfield, died early Saturday morning, November 5, 2016 at Grant Medical Center. Born June 22, 1958 in Painesville, he was the son of Lois Nichols Ellis of Athens and the late Fred C. Ellis, Jr. He was a 1976 graduate of Athens High School and attended Hocking College. He retired from Kroger in 2003. His hobbies included model trains and fishing. He assisted with the Kids Fest and the University Mall Train Show for many years. He was formerly an ON AIR personality for WEAK radio. In addition to his mother, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Ashley and Jason Johnson; three grandchildren, Justin Boggs, December Boggs, and Penelope Johnson all of Stephenville, Texas; three sisters, Cindy Braden, Jennifer (Tony) Jackson both of Athens, and Julie (Mark) Gunter of Portsmouth, Virginia; seven nephews, three nieces, two great nieces, two great nephews; and special friends, Melissa Knight, Jamie Knight, Jeremi Knight, Angel Taylor, Lisa Schneider, and Ron Waugh. Friends may call at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 PM at Alexander Cemetery with Rev. Edward F. Ellis officiating.
