ATHENS – Mary Camille Stanson, 96, of Aurora, formerly of Athens, passed away, Tuesday, July 16, 2016 at 6:23 PM at University Hospitals Portage Medical Center in Ravenna. Born November 28, 1919 in Rutland, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Gertrude Carr Cash. She was an Athens resident most of life and most recently resided at the Aurora Manor in Aurora. She worked until retirement as the Head Cashier at Peoples Life Insurance Company, and was a member of the Eastern Star and the Child Conservation League (CCL) for over 60 years. Her most memorable qualities were her Christian character, her Christ-like example of forgiveness and her placing of others first. Mary had unconditional love for everyone, no matter the situation or the issue. Her legacy will live in all who witnessed her example. She is the beloved mother of Victor Cash (Lorraine) Stanson, William John (Karen) Stanson, and Camille Lynn (Timothy) McCoy; proud grandmother of Darin, Eric, Tricia, Jennifer, Carolyn, Cheryl, Tyler, and Jennifer; and great grandmother of Megan, Ryan, Natalie, Nathan, Marina, John, Alyson, Lily, and Ashton; and a sister, Betty Wiseman. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Victor Jon “Vic” Stanson in 1994; a son David Lawrence Stanson; a brother, Clarence I. Cash. Services will be Monday, July 25, 2016 at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Rev. Phil Foster officiating. Burial will be in Athens Memory Gardens next her husband, Vic, her son David, and her parents, Clarence and Gertrude Cash. Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. An Eastern Star Service will be Monday at 12:45 PM.
