THE PLAINS – Gladys L. “Pug” Parker, 82, of The Plains, died Monday evening, July 11, 2016 at The Laurels of Athens. Born January 18, 1934 in Columbus, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Gladys Slater Hawkins. She graduated from Parkersburg High School in Parkersburg, WV, and retired from General Telephone Company with over 25 years of service. After retirement, she was employed at Laughlin’s Vending Company. She is survived by two daughters, Patricia L. Parker of Nelsonville, Helen R. (Jeff) Watson of Carroll; five grandchildren, Tiffany (Adrian) Jones of Lancaster, Eric (Angela) Malone of Logan, Aaron (Elizabeth) Misner of Columbia, SC, Jeffrey (Monica) Malone of Pelham, AL, Kaitlyn Misner and fiancé Levi Osborne of Fayetteville, NC; and six great grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold P. Parker; a son, Walter Richard “Dick” Combs; a daughter, Gayle Lynn Parker; a great grandson, Tristen Osborne; two sisters, Hope Wigal, and Lamoine Dailey. Friends may call at the Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home Thursday from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 PM. A private graveside will be held at the convenience of the family at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
