Bonnie Jean Cooksey

ATHENS – Bonnie Jean Cooksey, 82, of Athens, died Thursday morning, July 7, 2016 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. Born January 6, 1934 in Athens County, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Luella Morgan Moody. She was a graduate of Chauncey-Dover High School and loved her job at the Athens City Schools where she worked for over 30 years. She is survived by three children, Roxanna (Don) Stover, Jim (Susan) Cooksey, Hubie Cooksey; seven grandchildren, Scott, Seth, Jeremy, Krissy, Chelsea, Owen, and Brody; six great grandchildren, Natalie, Peyton, Chase, Zane, Brady, and Mercedes; and two sisters, Penny Seaman, and Nancy Keirns. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years in 2009, Milton Cooksey; a son Dick Cooksey; and a sister, Joy McKee. A memorial service will be Sunday at 2:00 PM at Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home with Rev. H. Willard Love officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from noon until the time of the service.
